Heber, AZ – This proposed project is a new 13,995 sq ft pool house to provide aquatic activities for the Salvation Army Camp Ponderosa. Our team worked to ensure that the facility would be cohesive with the other buildings at the camp but would also maximize the beautiful surroundings.
To take advantage of the view, the facility is situated in the pine landscape with a two-story glazed wall with a sloping view to the east. Operable overhead doors open to an exterior pool deck on warm days. The building includes a recreation room, men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers, lifeguard and control offices, a reception area and pool equipment storage. There’s also a mezzanine level for classes, activities and future office space.
Specific challenges for this project included selecting materials that are resistant to water and corrosion, as well as slip-resistant flooring for the pool area.
